For the best topical, news-based vlog / blog published between 1 October 2018 and 30 September 2019.

 

Blogs created and managed by individuals, a group of individuals, charities or companies are eligible to enter. They may be delivered by writing, audio or video but ideally a combination of these.

 

Submitted work must have been produced in Wales, for an audience in Wales. 

 

You must:

  • Submit three separate examples of blog entries

  • Supply links to the blog entries. It is a condition of entry that these links must be live, and remain live, until the end of March 2020. Please ensure you provide any passwords required. Failure to do so may result in disqualification

  • Submit only one entry for this category

  • Supply a supporting statement (maximum 300 words), explaining your approach to vlogging / blogging. 

 

Judges will be looking for:

  • Work which is topical and geared to news and current affairs

  • Content which includes insights, commentary and original opinions, persuasively argued

  • Work which is exclusive

  • Exposés, campaigns and investigative journalism

  • Insight, analysis, or examination of the context of stories

  • Journalism which results in change or which makes an identifiable impact (social, political, corporate, organisational), along with evidence of that change

  • Presentation of material through a combination of writing, audio, video, graphics

  • Links to and usage of social media platforms

  • Style - use of language, unique tone of voice, effective use of anecdotes and quotes

  • Structure and ease of use - design and imagery

  • Authority – evidence of a regularity of blogging and of generating audience reaction ​

 

The organisers reserve the right to mention any entrants to this category and to display any of the work they enter in any publicity and marketing relating to the competition without copyright infringement.

 

The decision of the judges in this category is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
